Shhh… is there are way to do EFT tapping silently?

Shhh!

So, you’re sitting on a train and you’ve a lot on your mind, you want to do some tapping, but don’t want to draw attention to yourself. Or maybe you’ve gone to bed worrying about something, you know tapping will help, but don’t want to disturb your partner who is lying beside you. What do you do?

Well, there are several ways to do EFT tapping without having to physically tap on your body, each works well in different circumstances.

1. Hold or massage the points

Holding or gently massaging the tapping points will bring good results. In fact, I find that holding the points can be more soothing than actually tapping, so sometimes I recommend for my clients to hold rather than tap the points. If you combine the holding of the points with your breathing, by holding each point for a long inhale and exhale you will really calm your system.

This variation is perfect for when you are in bed at night and don’t want to disturb your partner with the sounds of tapping. It will also really help you sleep well.

2. Use the finger points

There are tapping points at the tips of our fingers and tapping quietly on our fingers or holding / massaging those points, provide a subtle and discreet way for us to tap in public. If you hold your hand behind your back or in your lap, people really won’t notice what you are doing.

This technique is great when we are too self conscious to tap on our faces in public e.g. on a train, in a hospital, at a meeting or at a restaurant.

3. Imaginary tapping

Did you know that just by imagining that you are tapping the points and saying the tapping phrases in your head you are affecting the energy of your body? Well, it’s true. Visualising and imagining are very powerful and do influence our physical body. Try it for yourself and ‘imagine’ you are doing a round of tapping and see if you feel the benefit of it.

This technique is wonderful when you’re in bed at night and half asleep, so don’t want to make any physical movements. You can also use it when in an awkward situation / arguement, where you might usually use some positive internal self talk or count to 10 to calm down, imagine you are tapping also.

Have you manged to tap subtley or discreetly when in need. Have you experienced situations when these subtle tapping techniques would have come in handy?
