How to focus on solutions not problems (with Abraham-Hicks inspired tap along).

When it comes to problem solving I take my inspiration from the Abraham-Hicks teachings. They say that there’s a solution to every problem and that if we’re focused on the problem, then we’re not allowing the solution in. Simple.

Those ideas, the knowing that there ARE solutions and that I need to focus on them and not the problem have helped me immeasurably in my life. Don’t you just LOVE knowing that there are potential solutions available to every problem?

Where I live the farmers fields are covered in rushes (they look like thick grass, not good for cattle to eat). They are seen as a BIG problem. Yet, they have many uses – I use them as a mulch for plants, a friend grows potatoes in rushes, they’re a possible source of bio energy and they’re used for sculpture, see below.

Of course, when we’re facing our own big problems, it’s easier to get caught in that negative energy and even though a solution might be right in front of us, we can miss it. Have you been there? I have and I’ve got out of it too. Here’s how.

5 tips to becoming solution orientated

1. It’s all about attitude.

We can change our thinking from negative to positive, from unwanted (the problem) to wanted (the solution). This might involve taking a broader or new perspective e.g asking what other people have done when facing similar issues and what people with success and experience with that situation would do.

2. Use your imagination.

You can use the power of your imagination to help focus on what you want. Can you imagine a dream scenario or solution, or know what it will feel like to get your issue resolved? By feeling what it’s like to resolve your issue you start to attract that resolution.

3. Get practical.

It’s ok to ask for help and advice – whether it’s friends, family or a professional, somebody will be usually be able to help. In many cases, especially technical ones, just doing a google search can bring plenty of possibilities to light.

4. Focus on feeling good instead.

Take some time to just relax, chill, do something fun. By getting off the subject (especially if it’s bugging you) and feeling good in yourself you energetically ALLOW the solutions to come. Abraham calls this getting into ‘the vortex’  which is where all the solutions are.

5. Tap.

If nothing else is working – get tapping* on whatever is bothering you. It’s mostly while tapping on a problem that I shift into remembering to be solution orientated. I’ve included a tapping video at the end of the post.

To re-cap, just do whatever it takes to get out of the energy of the problem and open up to allowing the answers in.

Now, I’d love to hear from you. Have you found yourself stuck in problem situations? How did you find the solutions? If you tried the tapping video, did it help? Leave your comments below the blog post. Thank you.

  1. You always seem to know exactly what tapping videos to send out into my corner of the universe, Ferriss. 🙂 This week’s tap along video was perfect, because I have been problem-orientated on an issue with ongoing water leaks in our apartment lately. Up until now, I have been putting a lot of energy and worry into the problem itself and have also been trying to ‘logic’ my way into a solution. This week’s video is helping me chill out and open the door of possibility and solutions. Thank you for the reminder that I don’t need to ‘handle’, ‘do’, or ‘fix’ everything myself– it is enough for me to simply accept the flow of life and whatever solutions the universe has to offer. 🙂

    • Hi Dana, I’m delighted that the video is helping you to chill and just be open to the solutions (I love that image of opening the door to possibilities and solutions). What a relief it is to be able to let go of the problem and that feeling of having to sort it all out. I trust that the solution will be peeping out at you really soon. Let me know how things turn out. Thanks for commenting.
