Are you running out of steam?

feeling tired?

Do you ever have a day (or week) where you feel that you’re ‘running out of steam’ or even ‘running on empty’?

Sometimes life gets hectic and we can end up getting stressed and burned out, especially if we don’t see a way to change our busy circumstances. We see our energy levels drop and it can spiral out of control if we don’t act.

However, we can turn it around, and fast. Even when feeling trapped in circumstances beyond our control or feel that there’s just too much to do in too little time – there is always something we can do to improve things. We have the ability to make positive choices, with our thoughts, actions and energy.

In fact, we can start making a difference to how we feel in as little as 5 minutes.

So, here are some game changing 5 minute turn arounds, to boost our mood and energy, do-able even with a hectic schedule.

1. Try tapping*.

EFT tapping can help us take the edge off our fatigue and this helps us to think clearer, perform better and move forward more positively.

Here is a tap-long video you can follow along with.

2. Keep your energies balanced.

When we’re tired it’s doubly important to look after our energies. Donna Eden’s daily energy routine is a perfect, quick way to balance and boost our energy levels. Her new book ‘The Little Book of Energy Medicine’ shows you how to do it (you may also be able to see demonstrations on You Tube).

3. Appreciation

Positivity revives the spirit, and appreciation or gratitude is the quickest way to raise your vibrations. So, think of things that you appreciate in your life, even for 5 minutes a day and ot only will you feel lighter and brihghter but your outlook ususally improves too.

4. Nutrition and Hydration

Why is it when we’re down that we so easily forget the essentials?

If you’re going through a busy time, be sure to eat nutritious and delicious foods and to drink plenty of water. You have to feed and water your body well if you want it to perform well for you. Also, do exercise, even a brisk stroll can get your blood pumping and re-energise you.

5. Power nap or meditate

I’m a great fan of the power nap – it’s like pushing the re-set button. 5 – 15 minutes is sufficiently refreshing.

If you have mental fatigue, meditation is a great way to clear your head, unwind and relax.

6. Have fun

Spending time, even just a few minutes, doing something you love will feed your soul. It might be talking to friends, walking in nature, watching clouds go by, relaxing with a good book or dancing to your favourite music. Write down a few your your favourite fun things to do – then start doing them.

Will this really make a difference?

I’m not expecting these techniques to be a cure all, but if you use them consistently they can make a BIG difference and even little acts of pro-activity can turn things around. However, if you are experiencing chronic or repeated fatigue or stress, you probably need to dig deeper and make some bigger changes – such as changing patterns of behaviour, weeding out limiting beliefs and re-priotising your shedule e.g. delegate some tasks or reduce commitments while you nuture yourself back to full health.

Remember that when you’re tired and run down, your body is telling you to rest, to slow down. So LISTEN, otherewise it will just keep telling you louder and louder until you take notice.

A final note: at this time of year, S.A.D. (Seasonal Affective Disorder), sometimes called the winter blues, is rearing it’s head. As the days get shorter some people feel this seasonal depression hit hard. I’m currently doing research into S.A.D. and how it affects people and pets. If this is an issue that affects you now, or has done in the past I invite you to fill out a quick survey (click here to go to the survey) for me and in return I will share my top tapping tips for overcoming S.A.D. with you.

Now, I’d love to hear from you. How do you cope when life gets hectic? Do you struggle with your energy levels in winter? If you tried the tapping (and I strongly suggest that you do) how did it work for you? I’d love to know.

Please share this post and video with those who would benefit from it. If you aren’t on my mailing list, you can sign up (there’s a green sign up box on this page, top right) so you can get my newsletter and posts delivered straight to your inbox.

Many thanks,
