Joy really IS the key.

Joy is the key
I woke up this morning to the words ‘joy is the key’ ringing through my head. Those words are from a song by Francine Jarry, one that’s been played at the start of many Abraham-Hicks seminars (in the days where they were live-streamed so even here in Ireland I could join in with them) and it brings back happy memories. You can hear the whole song here.

If you’re curious, you can read all about my first Abraham live-stream back in 2011 here.
I even took photos, it was such fun … and was a very joyful day. Here I am just as it’s starting.

Anyway, I digress, even though that was a lovely trip down memory lane. The phrase ‘joy is the key’ is a great reminder of what I’ve seen reflected by many teachings and what is still playing out in my own life: that joy is the essence of who we are, it’s the true nature of our being.

Somehow, five years later, I’m still experiencing that on new levels.

Just last night on an Access Consciousness call, about money, it was reflected to me again, through these words from Gary Douglas (the founder of Access)

“Money follows joy”
Gary Douglas

Of course it does. We allow success and good fortune when we’re in a state of joy, it’s the natural outcome.

As I say in this week’s video … joy is our natural state of being and when we choose instead to take on feelings of anger or sadness for example, we disconnect from that true state. By doing so we dis-allow the ‘magic’ of things working out in amazing ways.
The good news is that we always have choice and the ability to re-connect to our true nature and allow magical possibilities to unfold. It reminds me of ‘following your bliss’, like in this quote from Joseph Campbell

“Follow your bliss.
If you do follow your bliss,
you put yourself on a kind of track
that has been there all the while waiting for you,
and the life you ought to be living
is the one you are living.
When you can see that,
you begin to meet people
who are in the field of your bliss,
and they open the doors to you.
I say, follow your bliss and don’t be afraid,
and doors will open
where you didn’t know they were going to be.
If you follow your bliss,
doors will open for you that wouldn’t have opened for anyone else.”
Joseph Campbell

In this week’s video I also take a quick look at the difference between joy and happiness.

After making the video I came across a lovely lovely quote on that topic from this article from Danielle LaPorte on that difference between happiness and joy.
It sums it up rather nicely, don’t you think?

“Happiness is like rising bubbles — delightful and inevitably fleeting. Joy is the oxygen — ever present.”

Danielle La Porte

Also in the video I also give an example of how even when circumstances seem ‘bad’ amazing possibilities exist, if we’re open to them and I share a super quick shot of EFT tapping.

As I keep on exploring and growing, I experience how easy it can be to choose joy. Even when I slip, and I can slip for minutes, hours or even days, there are tools and questions to help me find my way home.
Home to joy.

And, my journey into personal development is set for another spurt, another fun first, as I head off to Cork this week to take the Access Consciousness 4 day Foundation Class, where I’ll dive deep into exploring some great tools and learning some fun new body processes too.
How does it get any better than that I wonder?

Over to you.

What’s your point of view?
Do you think that joy is they key to success and a great life, or is it something different for you?

Let me know in the comments below.

Thank you.
